To promote personal growth, educational competence, and economic self-sufficiency as socially responsible members of society.
Description The Graduation, Reality, and Dual-Role Skills Program (GRADS) is a vocational Family and Consumer Science in-school program for pregnant and/or young parents in grades 7-12 in comprehensive high schools, senior high schools and vocational schools.
Objectives:
* To keep the student in school.
* To have healthy pregnancies and healthy babies.
* To learn practical parenting and child-development skills.
* To gain orientation to work.
* To set goals toward balancing work and family.
* To delay subsequent pregnancies.
The new school year has started and GRADS will be in session at the Springfield Clark CTC and in the Clark County schools. Mrs. Kelly will be meeting with the counselors at the county schools to arrange times to meet with the GRADS students at the county schools. Once a schedule is set, it will be posted on the website.
At the CTC, GRADS has been moved to Building E in the lower level, Room E-530.
GRADS Schedule
Even though the new school year has begun, the schedule for GRADS has not been set. Once I have met with the county counselors and set times for the county schools, then I will set the schedule for the CTC.
